This morning started off rather questionable with cold temperatures and minimal visibility, to say the least. However, while on our way up the lift, we burst through the clouds into a sea of lightness. Alas, the weather we had been dreaming of had finally arrived. After the coaches had thrown 520 pounds of salt (Wowzers!), the courses were ready for training. Since everyone was already warmed up with their effective exercises, we were able to start progressing immediately because we were ready to go! With everyone putting in maximum effort and dragging maximum ‘knucks’, what started off as a not so great day developed into a productive one.
At lunch, we took our team picture, which was postponed due to yesterday’s weather, and then made our way down the mountain. We were swallowed right back up into the fog, and drove back to our place in Govy for some well-earned rest. A big shout-out to the one and only David Edry for not one, but two hours of rest this afternoon. Once we had reviewed our video, enjoyed a delicious dinner (featuring scrumptious brownies), we all had to say a heartfelt goodbye to the beloved Pete Davis (Fuji).
After an amazing day of productive training and a fun time in Govy, we ended our solar rotation with a solid meeting and are pumped for more slalom tomorrow!
