Today was a fun-filled day with skiing and really calm afternoon activities. We woke up at the same time as normal and packed up all of the skies into the van, grabbed our bags and headed off to the beginning of an exciting day at Mount Hood. As we waited in the lift line, the wind blew relentlessly and it didn't help that it was very cold. Once we all got to the top, the wind died down but the temperature stayed lower than it has been. Overnight the snow froze into a crusty layer of icy hard pack so in the morning everyone had to make sure their edges were sharp. We made five runs before coaches had to salt! The courses were very good for what we were working on and everyone improved on their skiing. After skiing, we went to Government Camp to buy whatever we needed. It was National Hot Dog Day so a few of the kids got “Cobra Dogs.” It was a productive day on the hill.
Next, after everyone unpacked their bags we all enjoyed some relaxing yoga. after yoga we all had dinner. Tonight’s dinner was chicken, beef, rice, and the usual fruit and vegetables. Dessert was cookies. It was very tasty!!! After dinner, we went back for the nightly meeting where some of us imitated the coaches who were not there, to much hilarity. We watched video with Bors, went in the hot-tubs and, as we went to bed with high hopes for another amazing - but sadly our last - day of skiing and camp fun!!!
