Today was awesome. We woke up at the same time in the same place as yesterday. It was our first day on slalom skis. It took some time to get adjusted to at first, but eventually we all caught on. When we first got there the snow was softer than normal, but after the coaches salted all seven of our courses, the snow was just right for some great training. We skied very aggressively for the whole morning and we so excited to be on the SL skis. Throughout the day the lines were much shorter than normal which was nice to get some good reps in. After another great lunch on the mountain we traveled down to ‘Govy’ (Government Camp) and got some great food (cobra dogs) and food to bring back to the cabin from ‘Govy’ general.
We came back to Cooper Spur and had a little down time then some enjoyed a very relaxing yoga session and others played an aggressive game of kickball where team Lyons and Liam took home the WIN. After that win, we all went back to our cabins to shower and rest since we all were tired. Our lasagna dinner was very tasty and filling. After dinner we went to our nightly meeting in front of cabin 4 to discuss the days activities and how well the transition from GS to SL went. After the meeting, most groups went back to their cabins to watch video from the day. We will all be so very sad to see our dear friend and camper Lyons Brown leave and go back to his home town tomorrow.
