We awoke at 5:30 to the sound of Edry screaming, “we are already late!” (I don’t think we were). The snow was firm but our perfectly tuned edges slid gracefully though the snow like butter on toast. After completing our two warm up runs we worked our way into the courses and had are most productive day on the hill yet. Despite some long lift line we were able to succeed in skiing all the way to noon without a break, not even for the cookies that Lyons B so passionately devours.
After a peaceful lunch we enjoyed a comical team photograph and then navigated the tough afternoon snow of Upper Palmer to reach the mid-station so we can download to the parking lot. With a refill on ‘Huck shakes’ and ‘Volcano Cones’ in Government Camp, we set off on a hike to reach Mirror Lake. There we witnessed a spectacular view of Mt. Hood while swimming in a refreshing mountain pond. We then adventured back down the mountainside, had a quick talk with the famous ‘Fuxi’ at his store. We enjoyed Taco Tuesday for dinner (on a Friday).
A Shootout to Edry’s Mom! Joe and I wish you a Happy Birthday!
