Today we had a fabulous day on the Deschutes River white water rafting. We started off the day with a nice sleep in and wonderful breakfast. Then we got into the vans and were off to the river. We split up into three boats and learned the basics and safety of rafting. We also learned about “benny the river whale’ and the famous ‘squirrel bridge’. After a few fun rapids we went under the Maupin bridge where most of us did flips off the raft for good luck (according to the guides). Then we stopped for a delicious riverside cookout. Soon after we headed for the famous class 4 rapid, ‘Oak Springs’. After, we stopped and walked up to some fun rock water slides. Everyone got a couple of turns going down the slides. We all swam some more and had a lot of fun. When we reached shore we boarded the bus when the coaches sprayed us with water guns! Today was a great day!
