On the third and hardest day, we switched to our GS skies instead from our slalom skies. Everyone had a slow start to the morning (tired campers), but by the time we got to the mountain, everyone was energetic and fired up and ready to go. The conditions on the mountain today were icy and a bit cooler than yesterday. Later on in the day it started to warm up and the snow softened. We also experienced a little bit of fog and mist. The two courses were great. Everyone changed their skiing technique and impressed the coaches. When lunchtime came, we all sat on top of the mountain and ate our lunches as a team, and also enjoyed the lovely view. The way the clouds were positioned it made it feel like we were in a snow globe. All in all, it was a great day of training.
After skiing, we went to government camp, and bought food, drinks, and treats! When we got back to the camp, everyone was tiresome, but they still had enough energy to change and participate in our afternoon activities. We had two options that were either yoga or soccer. We had a small group of people that joined in for some yoga. Soccer was very intense and fun. Then we ate the delicious dinner that was served. The dinner included homemade pizza, salad and brownies for dessert. We had our nightly meeting to talk about our day and then we watched video of us skiing. All the kids took showers and headed to bed. It was an extraordinary third day!!
